We can’t wait to show you the next house we are doing. It’s an exterior Salts Mill style of home in Anacortes. We are painting it with a flat black paint called ‘Caviar’ by Sherwin Williams. The T & S‘ Difference

A stain does not really peel or flake as the paint will over time. It just gets really dry-looking, and cracks appear. As always, when staining a house, we flood the gates. The more stain, the better. Backbrushing the stain gets it in there deeper, it seems. But backrolling for speed and ease is just as well, and we would never want anybody to have to brush an entire house. If we just sprayed this in the house, for example, it would look good, brand new, but it will still have most of the darn black cracks.

We are spray-only technicians because it looks awesome having something painted with just air. Nothing touches your paint job. But this is an instance where it is beneficial to backroll. Our house painting contractors let go of our spray-only mentality when we get to jobs like this.
